Mai is a little OP, but most of her abilities won't infringe on others if and when she ever uses them. However, she does know a whole lot about magic and myths and has been shown in canon to be able to identify supernatural beings for what they are, whether they're human-passing or not. This is often at a single glance or after a brief conversation, and sometimes even when the being in question doesn't know what they are. For instance, Makoto and Ayu in canon both had no idea they were anything but normal humans, but Mai talked to them for a few minutes tops and immediately knew they were a kitsune and an ikiryou, respectively. Her powers are damaged and repairing, so that can easily be used as an excuse for her not to see it. She generally won't disclose this information, usually considering it the other person's business, but it may change how she treats them or talks about them.

Please comment here if your character is nonhuman or otherwise supernatural, particularly if it isn't obvious, and let me know:
-if Mai is allowed to identify what species they are or what's going on with them;
-the basics of that information;
-whether she can tell others (she usually wouldn't do that anyway, but just in case).

-The part that's not a secret is that he's a magician (basically just a human who can use magic), which is a more or less normal (if slightly rare) thing to be in his canon. HOWEVER, he is actually the clone of a much more powerful magician, created from a fragment of her flesh and bone and then infused over a period of years with a huge amount of magic to grow/form and sustain the body (which didn't look even remotely human until it was essentially ready to be "born"). Also that magic runs out slowly, and when it's gone his body will fall apart and he'll die, and he has about a month left!! ...But he's in a holding pattern of permanently being about a month away from that happening, because the chroma he gains from moonlacing acts as a substitute.
Also his soul/rukh/life energy/whatever is female. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Basically a vampire, but it's more like someone used turning her into a vampire as a step in making her into a copy of some multidimensional superdemons.

I'm thinking Mai can definitely tell she's a former human and probably get that she feels vampire-ish, but all she can tell about the rest is that there's something else complicated going on.

hey there! of course Mai can tell Otonashi is dead, as he was permitted to keep his “I’m-basically-a-soul-from-an-afterlife” status, and he still has no heart so there’s that too. the latter may not come up but it’s totally still a thing just for your reference!

he’ll probably end up talking about the dead thing one way or another anyway, what with the way the SSS jokes about it and that kinda. rubbing off. just a little bit!
